Featuring Gowtham Atluri (UC) and Kelly Anderson (P&G)
@ the 1819 Innovation Hub
--------
Gowtham Atluri is an associate professor of Computer Science at the University of Cincinnati. He has a M. Tech in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, and a Ph.D. in Data Mining and Computer Science from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. He directs the spatio-temporal data science lab at UC. Gowtham’s lab has expertise in developing computational techniques to extract insights from large spatio-temporal datasets that are increasingly studied in Earth science, transportation, and neuroscience.
Abstract: Gowtham’s talk will highlight some of the contributions from his spatio-temporal data science lab using modeling of large complex datasets in biomedicine and neuroscience. These contributions include novel techniques for effectively ‘fingerprinting’ using brain images and extraction of latent signal in biomedical datasets.

Kelly Anderson is the Director of Corporate R&D Data & Modeling Sciences at Proctor & Gamble. He has a B.S. in Polymer Science from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Ph.D. in Materials Science with a background in scientific computing from the University of Cambridge. His department develops, applies, and deploys emerging AI capabilities to transform R&D work processes and deliver technically superior consumer products and experiences.
Abstract: Kelly’s talk will highlight his journey in partnership with UC since the late ‘00s and share his aspirations for the P&G Digital Accelerator at UC. For 15 years, P&G has been partnering closely with UC CEAS to translate “Next” to “Now,” as we co-create and deliver innovations leveraging expert computational engineering and science in service of creating superior consumer packaged goods.
